Home Learning Preface
Preface

More and more business managers are realising that to compete in todays ever more competitive marketplaces, they must ensure that their business planning and marketing is more effective.

Marketing is still regarded, by some, as a cost against the bottom line rather than an investment in the future. But the successful companies all have one thing in common - they are driven by a desire to satisfy the needs of their customers.

This is the central plank of the marketing message.

The Marketing Group has worked extensively with growing, small and medium businesses to create a greater awareness of how the practice of marketing can make a positive impact on their organisations.

This work identified the existence of a knowledge gap between the need for practical, hands on assistance and some of the excellent, theory based qualification routes offered by educational establishments and professional bodies such as The Chartered Institute of Marketing.

The Marketing Online Learning Programme is aimed at bridging the gap. The 14 Learning modules have been designed to provide practical guidance and to allow a greater understanding of how the benefits of a marketing approach in business can be realised.

The final accreditation Marketing Action Planning Module is not mandatory, but recommended. It is designed to enable participants to set out a simple but effective marketing action plan. For an additional fee, the plan will be assessed a qualified marketer who will highlight any weaknesses and make recommendations for improvement.

Candidates undertaking the programme will gain a broad based practical knowledge of the marketing process. This will enable them improve their level of marketing competence and/or that of their organisation. It will also provide an excellent grounding for further qualification-based activity in the future.
